After about 5 or 6 years of non-bicycle-based transportation I finally got back in the saddle today for a leisurely ride around the neighborhood. It was good fun, although I almost had a stroke, both from the flood of nostalgia while tracing the routes I used to ride as a youth with friends and from the damn heat. Here's what I seen.

Kinja'd!!!

A black Porsche 930 (I think; they all look the same to me) with a glorious whale-like tail apparatus and gold basket-weave wheels. It was a sight.

Kinja'd!!!

A human-sized version of those little balsa wood dinosaur skeleton models. It was chilling under an umbrella and bedecked with Christmas lights. At that same house, a human-sized stuffed bear on its hind legs, wearing a Hawaiian shirt.

Kinja'd!!!

A white Nissan 300ZX that looked like it had been sitting through a couple of rainstorms judging by the mud along the bottom.

MISSING IN ACTION

Kinja'd!!!

A Porsche 928 of some description and year. It used to be there when I was a kid, but now I guess it's either dead or been moved.

Kinja'd!!!

Last but not least, the pièce de résistance. The most severe farmer's tan I've seen on my legs since I had stopped riding my bike.

...whale-like tail apparatus...

I believe the term you're looking for is plateau of downforce. As in, "glorious plateau of downforce."

Kinja'd!!!1

Hmm, that sounds more mysterious. And mystery is sexy.
